$90,000 - $130,000 USD

About the Role
We are hiring a Technical Writer to create and maintain the documentation that helps developers succeed with Primates. Great documentation is a force multiplier for our product -- it reduces support burden, accelerates user onboarding, and builds the kind of trust that turns trial users into long-term customers. In this role, you will own the entire documentation experience, from getting-started guides for first-time users to advanced reference documentation for power users integrating Primates into complex CI/CD pipelines.
Our documentation is currently built with Docusaurus and hosted alongside our marketing site. It includes conceptual guides, API reference documentation auto-generated from OpenAPI specifications, CLI command references, integration tutorials, and troubleshooting guides. The documentation serves a diverse audience: frontend developers writing their first end-to-end test, senior DevOps engineers configuring parallel test execution across Kubernetes clusters, and QA managers evaluating Primates for enterprise adoption.
You will work closely with engineering teams to understand new features as they are developed, often participating in design reviews and beta testing to build first-hand knowledge of the product. You will also engage directly with our customer-facing teams (support and customer success) to identify documentation gaps based on common questions and support tickets. We track documentation effectiveness through analytics (page views, time on page, search queries) and qualitative feedback from user surveys.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical writing skills with genuine curiosity about software development tools. You should be comfortable reading code examples in multiple languages (JavaScript, Python, Go, and shell scripts are the most common in our documentation), running CLI commands to verify instructions, and occasionally writing simple demo applications to illustrate integration patterns. You do not need to be a professional developer, but you should be comfortable enough in a terminal and a code editor to validate that your documentation is accurate and complete.
This is a fully remote role open to candidates in any North American time zone. You will report to the Director of Product and collaborate daily with engineers, product managers, and the developer relations team.
